Update: Charity Matching Fund

J. Dillon Hoey
Hoey & Farina Partner
1-888-425-1212

We, the attorneys and staff of Hoey & Farina, want to wish you and your family a happy New Year. I personally want to take the opportunity to thank all who have donated to this year’s Charitable Matching Fund. So far, we have matched $10,740 in donations to bring the total pledge amount to $21,480.

After the tragic events of September 11th, we proposed the first charitable matching fund program. Railroaders and friends from across the country responded positively to our suggestion and the fund was established in lieu of Christmas gift baskets.

With a $50,000 goal in total pledges, I want to remind all that there is still an opportunity to participate in the charity matching fund program. We are happy to match donations – large or small - until our goal is reached. The charitable fund matches, dollar-for-dollar, all contributions to charities made by our friends, clients, and interested parties. The effort has no administrative or fundraising costs – 100% of any money donated goes to the designated charities.

To make a donation, please mail Hoey, Farina and Downes a check made out to the charity of your choice. Along with the check, you must include the charity’s full name, address and tax exemption number. We will match the amount of your donation and mail both checks to the charitable organization. The only restrictions are the following:

  1. Our total donation to any single charity will not exceed $1,250;

  2. The charity must be an established organization with tax-exempt status; and,

  3. All checks must be submitted by the individual requesting the matching donation.

So far, this year’s donations have been made to a wide range of charitable organizations, including the following:

  • All of Us Express Children's Theatre

  • Anticruelty Society

  • Blackhawk Christian School

  • Blue Cap: Blue Island Citizens for Persons with Developmental Disabilities
