Straight Track #69

How Many Lawyers Does It Take To...

Hoey & Farina
1-888-425-1212

At Hoey & Farina, it takes 11, that is, to work as a team to best serve railroaders and their families.

Everyone has heard a good attorney joke or two, and everyone has heard the phrase "ambulance chaser". With negative preconceived notions, it's no wonder that when it becomes necessary to hire an attorney, it's often a stressful decision. Add to that the probability that you don't personally know the attorney only makes the decision that much more difficult.

Understanding this, and in order to help make such a decision easier for you, your union has "designated" attorneys who are knowledgeable of the Federal Employers' Liability Act and have a proven track record in successfully both advising and representing railroad workers and their families. Designated legal counsel are people your union knows and trusts. They are people they believe you should know and trust.

Our firm has the honor of being designated by seven rail unions. As designated legal counsel, we've gotten to know and become friends with a great number of railroaders and their families. We regularly attend union events and speak at union meetings informing railroaders of their rights and how to protect themselves. More importantly, though, we listen to what railroaders have to say and what their needs are. In response to some of those things, we offer free seminars (the Advocacy Skills Seminar and the Family Members Seminar) aimed to educate and inform railroaders and / or their families regarding matters that directly affect them. We also publish this free weekly email newsletter to bring to railroaders the most current and important information.

Being designated by the unions allows us to know that we've earned railroaders' trust and respect. Letters and survey responses like the following ones from our clients, let us know we've earned their trust and respect, as well:
